Deputy PM Michael McCormack & Nationals Member for Mallee Anne Webster in town

Wimmera residents have a new look CBD and Wimmera river precinct to look forward to after Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack last night confirmed that the 1.65 million dollars promised prior to the MAY election will be delivered.

Whilst some may have thought it was a hollow pre election promise tenders in fact are already out to local businesses with the hope that the majority of the work will go to locals for the CBD revitalization, Wimmera River precinct and the Horsham Livestock exchanges new 6 acre roof.

Onsite at the Horsham livestock exchange this afternoon - Mr McCormack praised Nationals Member for Mallee Anne Webster for her input into securing the funding.

Dr Webster initially had Mr McCormack visit the Wimmera back in May to make the promise to the Wimmera community on sprucing up the town and installing a roof for the saleyards.

"Anne is a doer, I heard her maiden her speech the other day and I was filled with excitement and inspiration by the fact that here is somebody that is going to get on with the job of doing such things as improving the river precinct of improving this facility in here which will be world class facility state of the art - out here at the saleyards"

Mr McCormack also says "People shouldn't be pessimistic when I promise things because I don't ever overpromise and under deliver, if we say we are going to do something we will do it".
