Farm thefts increase

Farmers are urged to reassess security immediately

Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment and property from farms has been stolen across Victoria recently with Police from the crime prevention unit asking farmers to reassess their farm security urgently.

There has been an increase in thefts on farms with items stolen ranging from Quad bikes to chain saws and motorbikes and general tools...

Farmers are being asked to remove keys from vehicles, motorbikes and anything that could be taken easily.

Senior Constable Mal Agnew says not to give thieves easy access to property and equipment.

Thieves will look for the easiest option say police - hence why removing keys, locking sheds and making sure equipment is secure is a priority.
