Prime Minister Scott Morrison recommends an easing of COVID-19 restrictions

Australia Prime Minister Scott Morrison eases COVID-19 restrictions on restaurants, cafes under stage one plans to kickstart the Australian economy.

The national cabinet will review the progress of the plan every three weeks to decide when to move to the second and third stages.

All changes are still dependent on State and territory leaders deciding when to implement the rules in their jurisdictions. It is expected that Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews will hold off until Monday to announce the Victorian timeline.

Some interstate travel.

Step 3

Gathering sizes increased to 100.
Return to the workplace.
Nightclubs, food courts, saunas open.
All interstate travel.
Consider cross-Tasman, pacific island and international students travel.
