Saturday Dr Webster was declared the Nationals member
Yesterday was the first official day that Anne Webster was the Nationals Member for Mallee after the seat was finally declared over the weekend, with Webster saying she was releived she had finally received the call from the Australian Electoral commission.
The seat of Mallee was the final seat to be called following the election on May 18.
Dr Webster is looking to build trust with the Mallee voters and believes she can do that by fulfilling election promises.
Today Dr Webster will be meeting with Minster for Water David Littleproud to discuss water security plans for her electorate and was proud of the National water grid plan revealed by Deputy PM Michael McCormack prior to the election..
The National Water Grid will:
Bring together the world’s best scientists to harvest and harness water in the best way possible. This will ensure that decisions regarding water and water infrastructure by future state and federal governments are based on best available science, not on political agendas.
Develop a Water Grid that will provide the pipeline of all established, current and future water infrastructure projects and then identify the missing links.
Use the best available science to examine how large scale water diversion projects could be established to deliver reliable and cost effective water to farmers and regional communities.
